I upgraded to Windows 11 around 5–6 months ago, and everything had been working perfectly until just yesterday. When I turned on my PC, my monitor was suddenly not being detected at all.
What happened:
I powered on the PC as usual, but the monitor showed no signal.
I tried restarting multiple times, unplugging and replugging the monitor, but it still wasn’t detected.
I then uninstalled the display driver via Device Manager and reinstalled it (using the one from the manufacturer), but that didn’t fix the issue either.
The monitor remains black, like it's not receiving any signal.
Additional info:
Dell Latitude 7420
Windows 11 version: [you can add this – winver command]
Graphics card: [e.g., NVIDIA GTX 1660 / Intel HD Graphics / AMD Radeon, etc.]
Connection type: [e.g., HDMI / DisplayPort / VGA]
I haven’t made any hardware changes recently.
I don't recall installing any major Windows updates just before this happened — but I’m not 100% sure.
What I’ve tried so far:
Restarted the PC several times.
Used a different HDMI/DisplayPort cable.
Tried connecting to a different port on the GPU.
Connected the monitor to another PC – it does work there.
Tried booting into Safe Mode – still no signal.
Reinstalled the display driver with a clean installation.
Checked Device Manager — no obvious errors, and the display adapter seems to be detected correctly.
Question:
- What else do I check to diagnose this and fix it?
